Book Discussion on Tax Reform. Come and join us as we explore our current tax system and proposals for reform. We will have a book discussion surrounding this issue with the following reads: 1)"A Fine Mess + a global quest for a simpler, fairer and more efficient tax system" by T.R. 22nd Annual East Cobber Parade. The League of Women Voters Marietta-Cobb will walk in the 22nd Annual EAST COBBER Parade held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 10 am, RAIN or SHINE! League of Women Voters members, friends, neighbors, family, adults & children, as well as dogs on leashes, are all welcome to march with us in the Parade! Parade participants dress in red, white and blue, wave and smile at spectators, and enjoy some spectators' cheers for the League of Women Voters! We carry a large banner with our League of Women Voters Marietta-Cobb name. (Cobb TV 23 may broadcast the parade live.) The 1-mile parade route begins at 10 am in the Mt. Bethel Elementary School parking lot (1210 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta 30068), travels south on Johnson Ferry Road and turns left onto Olde Towne Parkway. (Note: Johnson Ferry will close to traffic by 9:30 am.) Following the parade from 11 to 3, is the East Cobber Festival will be held at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church south parking lot (located on the Johnson Ferry Road side). The free Festival will feature arts and crafts, local businesses, food concessions, carnival games, and an entertainment stage.
